If you like this blog, then you might like this

I wrote a long story.

Here is a link to my Scribd page - - http://www.scribd.com/cyruspirani9035

I'm sure it's full of typos (I noticed a typo on the first page right after posting it.) And I'm sure that when I read it again I'll want to make lots of changes, but I think it's ok to read for now. If you decide to read it, I would recommend downloading it and printing it out (primarily because I want you to appreciate how I put page breaks at the end of each section.)

Also, if anyone reading this likes to write. I highly recommend writing a long story -- something you can't do in one sitting, so that you're forced to think about it when you're not writing. You might learn a little bit about yourself during the process. And you might also realize that there are a lot of things about yourself that you have yet to learn. That was definitely the coolest part.

Well done, sir, couldn't be happier for the two of you.

So if the three types of writing you do include fiction, non-fiction and poetry, how much of each is the ring story? Did you really have all of those conversations at Saul's? Craziness.

It's 100% non fiction. (The second time I went to Saul's, I was there for three hours.)

and I guess you can say that some of the prose is so beautiful and melodic that it can be classified as poetry

Christie and I both read it and enjoyed it.

However, Christie gave me shit about how little time I spent picking out her ring. I basically went to Goldcasters during their "one-day sale" and asked to see any diamonds in my price range. They had one. It was normally way out of my price range, and much bigger, and clearer than I could have typically afforded. But it was 50% off, so I bought it on the spot. I hadn't even planned on buying a ring when I walked in. I was just going to look.

So needless to say, when she read about all the time and thought you put into your selection, she questioned my "irrational sacrifice."

I think you should do a journal-type story about next year's DFHFFL draft.

Millis - Maybe part of what took me so long was that I was trying to cling to reason in the face of a sacrifice I knew to be irrational. I think buying the ring quickly like you did shows that you're decisive.

I've wanted to write about the DFHFFL, but it's overwhelming. Imagine trying to explain all of those characters!
